Do you enjoy driving a car?
I like driving around the city, to the suburb or more further….a long drive to another town.
We need to be alert during driving…not only being a safe driver but also pay attention to the surroundings.
Sometimes, because of one person being careless, this will cause an unfortunate accident to others. So, be vigilant and observe the situation in the area.
When someone drive his or her car in high speed, don’t be distracted. It’s better to stay calm and maintain your car speed.
Here, I want to highlight several points to become the check list before driving your car.
1. Fuel level
Be prepared for the unexpected. So, fill the fuel tank to full capacity especially if you will have a long drive. You will never know if there will a sudden traffic jam due to certain circumstances.
2. Condition of tires
Check the conditions of tires to be in safe conditions for driving and ensure to have sufficient tires pressure level depending on the type of car.
3. Toll road card
Either you will drive around the city or to another town, you might pass several controlled access highways that require fee to enter the toll road. Make sure to have enough amount of money in your toll road card to avoid problem on your trip.
4. Battery and Brake
You can have the car battery and brake checked on regular basis so its condition can be well monitored. Don’t miss checking your car to the car garage as scheduled.
5. Engine oil
You can read the kilometer and then compare to the book report if the engine oil is about time to change. Replace the oil with new and fresh one before it reaches the scheduled kilometer. If you take care of your car well, then the car will take care of you too.
6. Windshield wipers and Windscreen water washer
It’s raining season and driving will become more dangerous. Ensure to have a clear vision with a good condition of windshield wipers and filled windscreen washer water to clean any disruption objects.
7. Seatbelt
Fasten your seatbelt. Do not underestimate the important of using the seatbelt when driving. Wear the seatbelt properly before you start driving.
8. Seat position
Every person will have different comfortable seat position when driving according to their height and weight. Adjust the seat position to your comfortable and safe level. This must be done before driving, not while driving.
9. Lock
Always lock the doors when driving for your own safety. If the car does not have an automatic lock, then make a habit to check on this while driving.
10. Light
All the lights, such as, headlights (low and high beam), signal lights, brake lights must work properly, especially when you will drive in the night as well as during raining season.
Simple check lists as above will make your driving experiences safer and more enjoyable, isn’t it?
Have a safe drive.
