Nostalgia Trip to Surrey, England

Photographer: Evi AzhaliFlash back to my college days, I was incredibly lucky to finish school with a Master of Science degree from the University of Surrey located in Guildford, England, majoring in International Hotel Management. This continues the topic of my undergraduate course which is also in hotel management and tourism.

In November 2017, I had the opportunity to go on a nostalgia trip to visit the University of Surrey again while looking back on my college days and not to forget captivating beautiful moments to add to my photo collection. Visiting the University of Surrey can be an option if we plan for a vacation in England. Surrounded by beautiful and spacious garden views, neat accommodation buildings for students who are studying there.

We can enjoy beautiful scenery while walking through the garden, appreciate the nature and weather, sitting and relaxing.  From London, we can take the train from Waterloo Station with directions to Guilford, Surrey. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes with wonderful panorama.

In November 2017, the weather was already cold between 10-12 degrees Celsius. Don’t forget to bring a warm jacket, hat, and gloves so we can still experience outside atmosphere and stay warm.

Another alternative is to use a car from London to Guildford. We just rent a car although the cost will be more expensive. Please also make sure that you have a valid international driving license as well as a GPS to guide you with the correct direction.

While at Guildford, we can also walk down the Guildford High Street which is filled with shops with stunning buildings. If we still have enough time, you can also visit several historical places such as Guildford Castle and Guildford Cathedral. Do some video recording or photo taking in several great and dramatic spot to add into your album and social media collection.  

The shops in Guildford are usually only open until late afternoon, so before evening, we can catch a train back to London to Waterloo Station.

So, why not put on your list to visit Guildford, Surrey on your trip to England.
