Do you love perfume? Do you like the sense of tempting fragrance? Do you appreciate soft and beautiful scent?
Where do you like to do perfume shopping? Is it via online store or do you prefer to go out and exploring several stores to experience the variety of fragrances? Do you shop your favorite perfume on your local stores or when you are travelling?
If you have budget to spend, I would suggest to buy an original perfume from a well-known brand so you can assure on the quality and lifetime of the product. Female and male perfumes are plenty available in the market with the existing and new scent emerged from popular brand.
As for me, I always have Thierry Mugler perfume collection as my favorite while also exploring quite a unique new perfume time to time.
In this writing, I want to talk about 5 things for you to consider when doing a perfume shopping. Imagine that you walk into a perfume store to try so many fragrances leaving you confused, exhausted and even a headache after smelling too many scents without knowing which one to buy.
1. Short list your preferred brand
If you don’t have yet any preferred brand, then you can check and googling via lifestyle keyword or magazines on which brand currently become talk-of-town. Some brands you might want to consider are Thierry Mugler, Carolina Herrera, Paco Rabanne, Boss, Elie Saab, Bvlgari, Armani, Tom Ford and many other brands that have selections for female and male perfumes.
If you have shortlisted 2 or 3 preferred brands, then it is easier to pick and choose which perfume to buy.
2. Decide on what scent you do like to pick
What scent is your favorite? You can choose different scent depending on when and where you plan to wear that perfume. There are several scents to choose, such as, fresh, sweet, floral, fruit, citrus, woody, musky, minty, warm or a little spicy or even a combination of several scents which create unique fragrance.
As for me, I would prefer a combination of woody and floral scent creating a mysterious, unique and yet soft aroma.
3. Try the scent on paper and on your hand
Always try out a scent before purchasing a whole bottle to ensure that you are happy with the product. If you go to a perfume store, you will find the white cardboard strips or called as paper blotters beside tester bottles of your preferred brand. Spray a bit of perfume on paper blotters and smell it slowly. You will need time to process the scent especially if you test several perfumes.
For me, I like to test the scent on my wrist because I will know how it is reacted to my skin. Once I spray the perfume on my wrist, then leave it for 10 to 15 minutes to discover the smell.
4. Do not rush to decide which perfume to buy
If you already know which perfume to buy, it is then as easy as grab and go. But, to choose a new perfume, you will need to allow enough time to do some tester.
Test your shortlisted perfume on to paper blotters and different part of your hand and wrist, smell which one has a nice scent and last longer to help you make your decision.
5. It’s now the time to purchase
Have you found a perfume that you like to buy? Check on the price if the store has any special offer on your selected perfume.
Choose which one you prefer, is it an individual bottle or a package of bottled perfume and body lotion which sometimes sell at the same price? I always like to purchase a package of a bottled of perfume and a body lotion or a body shower. Usually, I can find this kind of package in an airport duty free store while travelling. Well, I hope that the travel restriction will soon be lifted so I will be able to travel and explore several cities and countries again.
Have you chosen your favorite perfume and ready to purchase? Enjoy the beautiful scent and spread it with love and care to everyone surrounding you.
Happy shopping.
