Fruits become one of my favorite debate topics with my friends. This is because of some friends might consume fruits on regular basis, only when on vacation, only when they catch sickness or even some hardly eat any fruits.
The discussion ranges from what is your favorite fruit? What vitamins or nutrition contain in particular fruits? Which fruits are good for diet? Do you need to peel the fruit skin? Can you gain weight by eating fruits? Do you need to eat fruits on daily basis? What is the origin of a particular fruit? And a lot more discussion topics that never end but definitely fun and useful talks.
I am a big fan of fruits and consume them on daily basis, and definitely wish to try any kind of unique fruits originated from some countries when I can soon do some travelling again.
Fruits surely give good benefits to my body, such as, help the digestion system, provide natural vitamin and nutrition, maintain the body weight as my healthy snack and many other benefits.
In this writing, I will share some of my favorite fruits that I consume regularly which you can also consider to try and get the advantage out of it.
Papaya
Papaya can help your digestion system which give comfort to the body. You can consume papaya for breakfast or also in the evening, before dinner. I also sometimes blend papaya, tomatoes and a bit of honey as my morning drink. Papaya is a source of fiber, contains vitamin A and C and because of its low in calorie so it is good for you who are on diet.
Apple
There are many types of apple in the market, from local to imported apple. I like to eat almost all types of apple, from green apple, red apple to red yellowish apple, such as, granny smith, envy, wangsan, ambrosia, and surely apple malang from Indonesia.
If you feel hungry between meal time or as light lunch, you can consider consuming apple because this will help your stomach full as alternative of another carb’s food. You can eat apple peeled or unpeeled, whichever you like, but the most important thing is the cleanliness of the apple skin.
Pear
There also many varieties of pear, from green pear, yellow pear, red pear coming from different origins. Pear contain vitamin C so it is good vitamin supplement to your body.
Pear has a reasonable water content, so it will be refreshing specially to eat it in the hot afternoon. Similar like apple, you can either eat pear peeled or unpeeled, just ensure the cleanliness. Pear can also become your friend on your healthy snacking time.
Guava Crystal
One of my favorite fruits is guava crystal, because the fruit is firm (not too hard and too soft), reasonable sweet taste (not too sweet but it gives a crisp and fresh feeling) and seedless so easier to consume. Guava is a good source of vitamin C. Specially guava crystal, you can find this type in many supermarkets in Indonesia with competitive and affordable prices.
Banana
Banana is not my daily consumption fruit, but usually for replacement on my light lunch schedule as alternative source of carbs food as well as to add energy before doing my regular workout session.
Banana is a good source of vitamin C and vitamin B-6. But banana is also considered as sugary fruit so do control the consumption and just eat enough. To give different sensation and flavor, I also mix banana with papaya and plain yoghurt for my breakfast to start my day.
Kiwi
Kiwi is another favorite fruit for me, rich of vitamin C and also a source of antioxidants. I prefer to eat kiwis when they are still firm, because overripe kiwi tends to be mushy.
You can eat kiwi individually which give a sense of cooling or also mix with your favorite yoghurt, either plain yoghurt or fruit flavored yoghurt. Another thing I do with Kiwis are to peel and cut them in slices, place them in a zipped plastic food storage and keep them frozen. You can then take enough portion later to add into yoghurt or ice cream.
Whatever fruits you choose and prefer, do eat fruits with enough portion suitable to your body. Fruits are healthy, but also some are considered sugary fruits. So, manage your fruits consumption, not too much, but just enough is better.
Have a healthy day.
